CAROLYN CRAWFORD: COMPLETE MOTOWN RECORDINGS
I didn't realise until now that Carolyn Crawford was just a kid of 13 when she won a talent competition and was offered a recording contract by Berry Gordy. She had the nerve to insist she be on the Motown label itself and not one of its subsidiaries, and that she be allowed to write some of her own songs. Motown were not at the time well known for granting their artists any kind of creative control, but Carolyn got what she wanted. In fact the first song she released, Forget About Me, was her own.
So she made a great start, but it all fizzled out much too quickly. Her records had limited success and her contract was not renewed. Her third and last Motown single was released in December 1964.
A few songs recorded during Crawford's time at Motown, but not released then, have since come to light but there are, as far as I have been able to discover, only 11 Carolyn Crawford Motown tracks in total:

02 Keep Stepping (Never Look Back)
03 Lover Boy
04 My Smile Is Just A Frown Turned Upside Down
05 Too Young, Too Long
06 I'll Come Running
07 Forget About Me
08 My Heart
09 Think Of The Times
10 When Someone's Good To You
11 Until You Came Along
And very good they are too. Track 4 is a true Motown classic. If only there were more.
